Before a printer can receive print jobs from Zippendo, it must be authorized. That usually happens right after the printer registers (e.g. from the device or companion app).

How authorization works

  1. Registration – The printer (or the app that controls it) starts a registration flow and may open a browser to a Zippendo Authorize printer page, or show a session code.
  2. You approve – You (or an admin) open that page in Zippendo, confirm the printer name/type if shown, and click Approve.
  3. Printer is linked – The printer is linked to your organization and appears under Printers. Its status becomes Active (or equivalent) so it can receive jobs.

If you see the Authorize printer page

  • Approve – Click to link the printer to your account. You may be redirected or the printer app may confirm the link.
  • Reject – Click if you don’t recognise the printer or don’t want to add it. The registration is cancelled.
Only approve printers you trust. Authorization gives that device permission to receive print jobs for your organization.

Printer status: Pending approval

If a printer appears in Printers with status Pending approval, it was registered but not yet approved. Open the Printers list and use Approve on that printer. After approval, it can receive jobs.

Troubleshooting

  • Page not loading – Make sure you’re logged in to Zippendo and that the link or session hasn’t expired. Start the registration again from the printer if needed.
  • Approve not working – Check your connection and try again. If it still fails, reject and re-register the printer.
  • Printer not appearing after approve – Refresh the Printers list. If it still doesn’t appear, try the registration flow again from the printer side.
