Adding a printer
Printers are usually registered from the device or app that runs on the printer (e.g. a small app on the printer or a companion app on your computer). That process generates a link or code that you use in Zippendo to “add” the printer.Start registration on the printer side
Follow the instructions for your printer or Zippendo printer app (e.g. on the device or in the desktop app). You may get a URL or a session code.
Open the authorization page in Zippendo
You may be sent to a page like Authorize printer (e.g. via the link from the printer). Log in to Zippendo if prompted.
If your setup uses a different flow (e.g. “Add printer” in the Printers list with a form), follow the in-app steps. The end result is a new printer in the list that can receive jobs after authorization.
Managing printers
- View – Click a printer to open its detail page. There you can see its jobs and (if available) retry or delete jobs.
- Edit – Use Edit to change the printer name or type (Label vs Document). This helps your team identify the right printer.
- Approve – If the printer is in Pending approval, use Approve so it can receive print jobs. See Printer authorization.
- Disable – Use Disable to stop sending new jobs to this printer without deleting it. You can enable it again later if your setup allows.
- Delete – Use Delete to remove the printer. Pending or failed jobs may be lost; complete or cancel them first if needed.
Printer types (Label vs Document) determine what kind of jobs can be sent. Use Label for shipping labels and Document for other documents. You can have multiple printers of each type.
