After you’ve connected a carrier, you can adjust how it behaves. Open the carrier from Carriers → My Carriers to see and change these settings.
General settings
Carrier name
The name you see in My Carriers and when choosing a carrier for a shipment. You can change it anytime (e.g. from “Postnord” to “Postnord – Oslo”) to make it easier for your team.
Test mode
When Test mode is on, shipments created with this carrier are created in the carrier’s test environment. No real labels or pickups are produced.
Use test mode when you’re trying out Zippendo or a new carrier, or when you want to run through the flow without sending real shipments. Turn it off when you’re ready to ship for real.

Label and printing
Use ZPL labels
ZPL is a label format used by many Zebra printers. Turn Use ZPL labels on only if you have a Zebra (or ZPL-compatible) printer and want labels in ZPL format. If you use a different printer or aren’t sure, leave this off. Default labels work with most standard label printers.
Print label on error
When this is on, if something goes wrong while creating a label, Zippendo can still print a label that describes the error. That helps with troubleshooting at the packing station. Turn it off if you prefer not to print in that situation.
When you cancel a shipment
Also cancel the shipment at the carrier
When you cancel a shipment in Zippendo:
- On – Zippendo also tells the carrier to cancel the shipment. The shipment is cancelled both in Zippendo and at the carrier. Most users leave this on.
- Off – The shipment is only cancelled inside Zippendo. The carrier may still consider it active (e.g. for pickup or billing). Use only if you’ll handle the carrier side yourself.
Addresses
Override sender address
By default, the carrier uses the sender address you chose when you connected it. If your agreement with the carrier requires a different sender address for this connection, you can override it here. You can pick from the sender addresses you’ve added under Settings → Sender.
Override return address
Some carriers or products need a specific return address. If so, you can set a return address override for this carrier from your existing sender/return addresses in Settings.
Translations and label text (advanced)
If your carrier or printer supports custom text on labels, you may see optional fields for translating or customising words (e.g. package header, parcel info, to, from, weight, date, order no., shipment no.). Use them only if you need labels in a specific language or wording; leave them blank to use defaults.
Dummy and barcode labels (advanced)
Some setups use “dummy” or test labels (package, letter, return package) or a specific barcode label. These fields are for special workflows (e.g. integration or printer testing). Most users can leave them as they are unless your carrier or internal process requires them.
